Really? Slightly off topic this... but...
The locals there will try to sell you ANYTHING and don't even stop short of pushing their rubbish into your hands then charging you for it.
After a few hours of 'La Shookrun' (pronounced 'La-ah shookrun' - "No thankyou" in Egyptian), I worked out that silence was the best policy.
Don't communicate with them at all and they get fed up in seconds. Also wear sunglasses at all times - avoids the risk of making accidental eye contact (which is as bad as saying "hello how are you? have you got any crap to sell to me today?")
