I would get a UV filter to fit directly to the camera.
Consider the cokin A system or an equivilent for effects filters.
The first filters I would recommend are:
Circular polariser
1 stop ND Grad
2 stop ND Grad
3 stop ND Grad

These will cover most of your needs.

Try SRBfilm, they have a good selection to choose form and at reasonable prices.
