I have measured the height of the interior and it is 5", but that doesn't allow for any distortion of the lid section.
my 20D has the tripod mount fitted all the time and it has loads of room in the bag. As I mentioned earlier, my previous camera lived in this bag with the battery grip on full time.
I would suggest nipping into your local camera shop and trying the body in it, jessops will match a genuine webprice as will a good many independant retailers
