Definitely a problem with vertical perspective, PhotoShop perspective tool should help –can’t say too much about this, since I’m still learning PhotoShop myself!
Agree that the sky needs something –I tend to use gradient tool to darken the sky (clearly seen in a number of my gallery shots). This emulates a graduated filter in trad photography.
My conversion method is usually via the channel mixer, although I am currently experimenting with
PR Studio –B&W (
www.powerretouche.com.) This PS plug in lets you emulated a lot of the things you would do in a trad dark room.
