The left hand side should be solid black. Also seems to be a grainy effect over the moon itself but I can't work out if thats something you've done or if its just jpeg compression artifacts.

No, no, that is all original mate! I boosted the contrast of the background to bring them out.
I can't see any stars on the dark side of the moon, there is some spots there but I think they might be not quite shadow highlights.
But its all original I promise!
