Glad you have found the solution.

I always use genuine inks for my photo printers. On one occasion I was persuaded to try third party inks but just in my general office printer. The results were awful with the black being a muddy grey rather than black. Never again.

One of our club members once asked for help as his printing colours were very poor. We tried various suggestions but then he revealed he was using cheap compatibles. Several members said that they could no longer advise him unless he used the manufacturers inks. He very reluctantly did so and was amazed to find his problem was solved.
