Think these were annouced in the same thread as the 30D.

The 17-55 is a good concept giving it a fast aperture and IS but at that price for no L grade glass

- think I would prefer the 24-70 2.8 L, or perhaps a 24-105 4 IS L & 17-40 4 L for a little extra.
