There's a guy (not me!) on the Canon Forum who says be guided by your own shooting style. If you're happy with the 300D but just want an upgrade, the 350D should suit, and it's a lot cheaper than the 30D. I bought one from Jacobs last week for £399 new - B stock, but then I was looking for something really small and light as a second body to go with my 5D. Like a 1.6 focal length factor doesn't quite make up for 2.5 times the price for a new 30D! On the other hand, if I already had a 10D I'd probably have gone for a 30D with its bigger screen, more pixies, and the same control layout.
Oh dear, consumer choice is difficult, isn't it? Maybe it's time to get the two birds in your hands and see which perches nicely?
