@stepheno with regards to the first shot... I can see the man's head in the boat but his neck does unfortunately fall exactly on the horizon line and it does make it look like he is decapitated. I couldn't have got any higher to alter that and as I was using a zoom for the shot going lower wouldn't have corrected that either. If I am being honest though, I hadn't noticed the problem at the time of shooting so your comment is still very valid and helpful
The second shot seems fairly well received so I'll just move on quickly to the third...
The tree was 'in the way' and due to the surrounding area I had no change of getting a substantially different shot in the time available. With those restraints in place I chose to break all the rules and
plant the tree dead central. I got the picture but I guess the jury is still out on if it works or not
