It certainly was; seeing as I only had about an hour's worth of light before sundown, I spent a fair bit of time moving from spot to spot, trying to work out the best place to set up the 'pod to shoot.

Part of the problem was that the place was so full of people that it was impossible to set up for a clean shot in any direction - so I just had to wait until folks started leaving to get into position.

At an elevation of over 6000 feet, it starts to get pretty chilly in the desert as soon as the sun dips below the horizon, and most folk had left well before then. Although you don't really see it in the shot above, the first stars were becoming visible and I could have stayed out their all night if it wasn't for the fact we needed to travel a fair distance back to where we were staying.

Still, I know I'll be going back one day and, next time, I'll be sure to set aside a few more hours down at the Canyon
