Why? Well, first of all, it was there. Why demolish a perfectly good building?

Ok, I know we all do that at times but here's a better reason: it provides us with vital scale that shows the folly as being something very big. Without it, it could be any size. The clean mono you used originally I think works best, it is more dramatic and moody. I love it just as it is. Just because something is there, does not mean it has got to be got rid of! In this case, the scale it helps us with is important to the power of the shot. In my own homble opinion anyway <g>
