40 megapixel camera for £2000
Yes, it's true folks, I can provide you with the equipment to take photos which have 40 million pixels all for under two grand!
How? Well, it's quite simple really: buy 4 Canon 400D cameras and make a little frame to hold them in a 2x2 formation which allows fine adjustment of each camera so that the pictures just overlap by a fraction. Attach this to a tripod. Wire four electronic shutter releases into one.
There you go, you'll be able to take four images at once that can easily stitch together into a bigger picture than the most expensive digital medium format camera can manage.... and they cost upwards of £25,000 each!
Now granted, this is going to put a strain on your processor and RAM so you might need to up those a bit and you'll want a bigger hard drive as each high res RAW picture will be about 32MBs a piece. But hey, you can blow these pictures up to billboard size.... but you might need to invest in a slightly bigger printer than you have right now!
Darn it, there is always one issue after another but hey, you've got to admit this is a darned sight cheaper than splashing out on a medium format digital back!
Oh.... you are going to need a BIG camera backpack as well :o)
Cheers,
Rob
Does this win the award for most unrealistic and pointless post ever on Pixalo? <g>
