Re: Full-Frame Owners - Eat Your Heart Out!
My gooness, all that diatribe to say nothing of any real sense! Indeed, if he is the professional photographer he claims to be, he is going to do himself out of business if he keeps on showing his ignorance of rudimentary photography like that!
He even makes himself look an even bigger prat by saying 'Even though i can do just as well with this cheapy camera, I still paid for a super-duper bankrupter anyway.'
Doh..... why?
Because he knows that displaying an image on a computer you can make it look however you want. He takes pictures on his cheapy, spend ages getting them how he wants them to look and then compares them to one from a very expensive camera. But what is his point? We all know that in order to show a photograph on a computer with a picture measuring 10" x 8", you need precisely 0.414 megapixels! So, forget your wonderful 8 megapixel camera, you only needed a 0.4 megapixel camera in the first place!
For those who think I've gone mad, do the maths!:
10" at 72dpi = 720 pixels
8" at 72dpi = 576 pixels
720 x 560 = 414,720 pixels.
So the resolution has absolutely nothing to do with it on here, only when you come to print the thing out.
The processing chip in the two cameras is vastly different, the lens on the front of his cheapo camera is a bit of chipped glass shaped like a semi-convex disc with no correction for aberation etc. Presumably he doesn't have a cheapo lens stuck on the front of his full frame Canon 5D!
As soon as he showed the pictures zoomed in, the differences became extremely apparent!
The thing that makes me laugh is his button to go to pay a donation to keep him online.... and in L series lenses! I can't believe anyone is stupid enough to pay him a cent to write that nonsense!
Could cost him big time though. Can you imagine his wife coming home:
'Darling, you'll be so pleased with me, I just saved nearly $5000 dollars.'
'Wow honey, that's great. How come?'
'Well, you know you've been saving up all year to buy that new Canon 5D?'
'Uh huh?'
'Well, I read this guy on the internet who sounded like he knew what he was talking about and he said you don't need a 5D, you just need a cheapo A640 because they come out with much the same pictures anyway!'
<shakes head> 'Oh no, please tell me you didn't....'
'Anyway, so I took his professional advice, bought you the new Canon A640 for $150 dollars. And you know the best bit?'
<groans> 'No, what?'
'Well, you know how you said we couldn't afford for me to get a car and I said I understood and you said well honey you know that I love you and if we could afford it I would only be too happy to get you a car?'
'Did I say that? Surely I was only....'
'Well, I got a great deal on a Fiat Punto, she's outside.... and she's called Merribelle!.... Happy Christmas honey!'
Cheers,
Rob :o)
