Another way in XP is to open the folder where the photos are kept and select the ones you want to copy. Then on the left hand side of the screen you will see a list of things you can do. One will be 'copy these files to another location'. Select that option, and then in the dialogue box, navigate to the card (that will be shown as another lettered drive) and press copy. You should put the card in the reader before you start the process.
If you have more images you want to copy in other folders, you can then repeat the process.
Make sure the TV will accept your spare card. Panasonics use SD, Sony use memory sticks. If they have a DVD player that will display jpegs you can also burn a CD (or DVD). Yet another alternative is to take your camera too, and put the spare card in it and plug the camera into the TV.
That's given you some options to think about. Might be worth having an alternative up your sleeve in case of problems.
