Re: lens to replace kit lens

Of those two, definitely go for the 28-105mm lens. It has the same lens quality, lower wide angle and longer telephoto and the same aperture range. The 35-80mm really is a cheap lens that I owned for all of a week before getting rid in favour of something better. It is pretty soft throughout its range.

That would certainly be the choice I would make. Hope you enjoy your new lens.
