As this appears to be an issue with the Photobook software I've flagged this up for attention backstage. Are you saying that you have had the XL facility previously and now you have not? Are you opening the old version of the software? The Pixalo World software has a different location to the original, so the old shortcut will not lead to the new version.

Hi Dave, thanks for the quick reponse. Everything was fine with the software, designing in XL size was no problem till today when I went to complete the order. After I entered my payment details, and the upload of photos was to start, a message appeared saying there was a price update, and I had to restart the software and order again. I had to do this, as I could go no further. On restart, I tried to open my books, and it closed the program down, as if crashing. (So I can no longer access my files). I reopened, without trying to open a saved file, and the XL option had disappeared, from the size option and price list has reverted to old. I update regularly, and this does not look like the screen I saw before the new XL size came in. Also on the Pixalo website, I looked at the XL book page, it just has £0.00 next to price. (weblink Pixalo - digital photo processing, poster printing, photobook, photo calendars, photo gifts )
I wondered if it had been withdrawn. If I download the software again, I may be able to open my books if this works, but am nervous to lose any work if I over write what is on my PC. I continue to try and update my software, but it says no update is available. I am using Pixalo Photo World Version 3.2.1. If you need further detail, I'll will help in any way I can, though regret I am not too techy. Thanks, Alice.

Hi Alice, I will ensure for anyone who is experiencing problems with the ordering of XL photobooks, will get an extension for 30% off. I'll need to contact print partners on Monday to sort it & will then post back here. Apologies for the problems

I reopened, without trying to open a saved file, and the XL option had disappeared, from the size option and price list has reverted to old.

If you used the old shortcut it will open the old software. The software with the XL photobooks has a different location - "C:\Program Files\Pixalo\Pixalo Photo World\Pixalo Photo World.exe"

I think I saw a post from Dave (Pixalo Dave) to the effect that it is best to update the software before trying to run an order, so maybe the price increase update during your transaction has messed things up.

Hi and thanks for your help - yes this is the file location I am using to open Photobooks -and it was updated shortly before order, it just seemed odd it made me update during the order even though the version was up to date, and then appeared to install an older version. What does seem odd though is it is not the old design for Photobooks that appears, the layout is like the new version, but just a blank space where the XL used to be. Well my brain is pickled and two toddlers are competing to get to this PC, so I shall relax for the moment. Not too worried now as my saved files are still on my PC. I'm just very excited about seeing the new size, the last couple of books I made have gone down a real hit, so I can see this being a new hobby for me! I'm all ready planning my next one - I've been married 5 years and still not got all my photos in my wedding album, so have decided designing a photobook will be so much better. And this has saved me the money of buying a photo printer.

Anyway I'm gabbling on. Sorry to bug you all on a weekend with my technical problems, but hopefully we will find a way round this soon,

just a quick p.s. I just reinstalled the software - initially it looked like this solved the problem - I got one step further - it uploaded the pictures from my files, but just after I got the same error asking me to update prices, and crashed out, with error code 508. So fair try but thats my knowledge exhausted, and it is time to open wine....! Alice.

I downloaded the software again on Friday because it didn't seem to want to update from the really old one (before it was "Pixalo Photo World"!), so I guessed the prices should have already been updated, although I ran an update anyway....nothing seemed to happen

Sorry about the problems we will of course refund, we had an error,
with the graphics date being different from those in the pricing system.


We will of course honour all, simple send over the order confirmations,
or order numbers and we will refund in line with the offer.
