Unfortunately today we have a sad announcement to make.

The more observant members may have noticed that Sonsey has not been around much over the last few months. Unfortunately he is not currently in good health and is quite rightly taking time out to recover. As he expects the recovery period to be prolonged, he has given considerable thought to his position here and has now decided that it is better for him to step down from the Crew. The whole Crew are saddened by this loss but fully understand and support his decision.

As the first Crew member to join Pixalo Iain has been instrumental in developing and moving the site forward, additionally he was also the key person who designed the Pixalo logo that we still use today. He was always happy to help out, offering constructive criticism, ideas and support with unlimited enthusiasm. While running the fortnightly themes, overseeing the gallery and several sections of the forums his workload was sometimes very heavy, however his dedication never faltered. Often he would step in to difficult situations both on the public and private sides of Pixalo to offer well thought out solutions and occasionally, brutally honest points of view. It's quite hard to explain how involved Iain was but we can assure you that Pixalo really would be a shadow of what it is today had he not been a Crew member. To many members he is just another member of the Crew but to all of us involved in running Pixalo on a daily basis he was a considerable presence and is a great friend who is leaving a huge void behind the scenes.

Hopefully when he regains his health he may become more active again on the site and as we have said to him privately, the door to the Crews quarters will always be open should he desire to return.

The whole Crew would like to thank him for all the help he has given over the years and wish him a full and speedy recovery back to full health.

May I, from the members' side of things, add my big thanks to iain for all he has done for us on Pixalo. I am very aware that the amount the Crew do is far greater than most of us realise because it happens behind the scenes and Iain has played a full and active role in supporting the members over a long period.

Thank you so much iain and we trust your health will see a real improvement in the coming weeks and months. We hope one day to see you back sporting the 'Three Smarties' of crew once again ;o)

Hi All
I know that I do not {at the moment} manage to get on here but I have just seen this and I to would like to send my hopes for a full recovery to Sonsey.Also to thank him as well as all the other members on here that many times have helped me out when I have not been sure which end of my camera I should be looking through.
I am hoping that the things I have been involved in that has kept me away from this site for so long will soon be easing off and that once again I can rack the brains of the members on here to aid me in my hopes that one day I will be able to show photo's worthy of this great site

Yes I am well, it is just over the last 9 or 10 months my work situation has taken up ALL my time and all hobbies and enjoyments have had to be put aside, but it is forecast that things over the next few months will be settling down therefore giving me my free time back
I have greatly missed coming onto here and following the day to day stories but seeing the infomation about Soncey I had to add my hopes for a speedy recovery

I can add that Iain had an operation about 4 weeks ago that went well and has offered him some relief. The operation was to help with part of the bigger problem and he is still not in good health overall. The Crew and Iain stay in touch and despite his illness he is keeping high spirits and has a positive attitude but (I think I am right) in saying that it will take a while for Iain to make a full recovery.

He is currently unable to spend very long in front of his computer and so doesn't get chance to read and respond here, but he does try to free up a few minutes every now and again to check that we are looking after Pixalo for him Perhaps if he is up to it, he will be able to respond personally the next time he is online.

Many thanks for all the continued support everyone, it's all very welcome and certainly helps keep the old spirits on the up.

My thanks also to the Crew who have been checking in with me now and again to offer their support and to let me know about the more fun activities I've unfortunately missed.
