Responding (as ever!) to popular demand, we have introduced a 'Shots for reference' sub-forum beneath 'Photography Equipment and Software Reviews'.

There's a sticky thread in this forum which sets out the objectives and guidelines...

This new forum is for example shots which may help to show the attributes of different lenses, cameras, etc. It is not intended as a basis for scientific comparison, since the images will have been taken under different conditions and with different post-processing.

If you post a shot here, please provide information on the camera/lens settings and any post-processing - sharpening, levels adjustment, etc. Ideally, keep editing and corrections to a minimum, to give a realistic impression of the performance of the equipment without enhancements.

Thread titles should contain the full name of the lens/camera followed by 'example photos' or 'sample photos' - for example...

For now we'll try to stick with one thread per item. There is an argument for splitting the posts up chronologically, but searching will be easier if everything relating to one lens/camera is in the same thread, and it will be tidier.
