Pixalo is moving to a new server which should provide an even better service and is part of our ongoing programme of upgrades and enhancements.
(Did that sound convincing? If not, blame Steve because he's doing all the complicated stuff. )Anyway, it should all be fairly painless and seamless, but if you notice any glitches then please bear with us because it should all sort itself out pretty quickly. (Or just blame Steve.) Many thanks for your patience and understanding, if necessary! ![]() |

Re: Possible interruption to normal Pixalo service!
Again? Hope it's a little more 'painless and seamless' than last time
JK I'm sure it'll all go fine ... and if not, then we'll just blame Steve ![]() PS You forgot to tell us when this will be ![]() |

Re: Possible interruption to normal Pixalo service!
I'm sure it will be virtually undetectable.
![]() As for when... anytime now, probably. Everything has been copied across, the redirects are being implemented and hopefully the DNS propagation shouldn't take too long - but that is always a bit unpredictable. To be untypically serious for a moment, I know a bit about the day-to-day running of a forum but, frankly, very little about vB and HTML coding, server maintenance and all the other things that make Pixalo possible, so if I happened to be wearing a hat I would take it off to Steve and Dave for knowing the right incantations to intone. Without them, we would not be here. ![]()

Re: Possible interruption to normal Pixalo service!
Everything is still O.K. but we haven't gone anywhere yet.
![]() With all the pressure (and blame if anything goes wrong ) resting on my shoulders I didn't want to rush things yesterday and make any mistakes. I will continue to work on the changeover as time allows today |

You'd be amazed!
![]() As part of all this, Steve has promised the Crew a 100% pay rise. That means we'll get, er, oh... ![]() |

Re: Possible interruption to normal Pixalo service!
Update - The move hasn't happened yet, and it's possible that transferring some stuff across may take a little longer than was hoped, so there could be some downtime.
We can't say definitely when - could be overnight (UK time) today/Saturday - but everything will be done to keep the interruption to a minimum. ![]() |

Re: Possible interruption to normal Pixalo service!
Steve how do you end up doing all the work ?I can't understand why you are giving all the other layabouts such a huge pay rise.

Re: Possible interruption to normal Pixalo service!
Parts/all of the site will need to be closed at different times of today from around 16.00 CET as we move servers. We will do our best to minimise the possible disruption and keep downtime to an absolute minimum.
