D200 Flash shoe fault

I am still experiencing problems with the flash shoe connection between D200 and SB800. The fitting is loose and this causes the flash to fire on its own accord when there is movement of the camera. Recently at a wedding the Vicar allowed me only three shots at the signing. Unfortunately as I lined up the 'shot' the flash fired twice on its own, the Vicar held up his hand and mouthed 'one to go' fortunately the last one was good. Has anyone else experienced this problem. I'm off back to Nikon HQ at Kingston tomorrow.

Re: D200 Flash shoe fault

I've read a few reports of faulty metering modes with the flash, but nothing like you describe. Anything that is loose is a fault & needs to be rectified asap (which you are doing) . Keep us posted on what they say at Nikon HQ

Re: D200 Flash shoe fault

I wonder is it the camera or the flash thats at fault?

I am interested to hear the outcome of this.
