I recently lent my brother my camera Konica Minotla Dimage Z1, he seems to have fallen in love with it. It's not great but comparedwith what he had it's a step up.

As Konica Minolta ceased I need to find out if there is anything similar on the market.

It would need to use Secure digital memory card, have a good LCD Monitor, a good built in zoom and pre set options including a movie option

If anyone has any ideas - they would be appreciated

I wouldn't worry about memory formats, as so cheap to buy new memory these days

I had the earlier one the S5500 (in fact it still lives in the boot of a car) and it is a good little camera so I am sure the S5700 will fit your needs. It is XD format memory cards, which as has been said are now pretty reasonable. But if it is an issue (I like SD cards on compacts so I can use Micro SD and transfer easily to my phone)

I also have a Panasonic FZ30 (now replaced by the FZ50) which I can highly recommend especially if you want (or may want in the future) a little more control. I also have a Canon Powershot S3is which may also fit the bill but I couldn't recommend it.
