F11, A700 or E900
I've been looking for a camera around £150 and have decide it's going to be one of these 3.
The F11 is the cheapest at £150 and the smallest which will come in handy but the A700 at £180 has a better macro focus range, zoom and I feel I'll generally have more fun with it but the size is the only thing stopping me from buying it. The E900 is the same price as the A700 and is a comprimise between the 2 but the macro focus range is worse than the F11 and even though it's smaller than the A700 and supports RAW and has the etra mega pixels I'm still swaying toward the A700. I really need some advice here. I think the size will stop me using it as much and I have no idea what to do. I orginally was looking for a small camera with manual settings and would of gone for the F30 if it wasn't £20 more than the A700. |

Re: F11, A700 or E900
Hi Mundu & welcome to Pixalo
Can only comment on the F11 , as had the F10 a while back. Amazingly small camera, that I mainly bought due to it's ability to shoot at ISO1600. From memory there wasn't a massive difference between the F10 & F11, so if you shoose to go this route you could save some extra dosh looking for the older model |

Re: F11, A700 or E900
I can only find the F10 for £10 cheaper. The only difference I can see is the extra cm macro focus distance on the F11.

Fair enough. Agree...found F11 for £146 at savastore
Example shot from F10 at ISO1600 with no flash, taken indoors :- ![]() Pretty low noise levels for a compact |

Re: F11, A700 or E900
If I could get the F30 for £180 I'd just buy that. Still I really can't decide between the compactness or more features! This will be my only Digital camera for a while so the A700 would be ideal but I would love something that wasn't to big!

Re: F11, A700 or E900
At the end of the day it doesn't matter how good a camera is, if you never take it out & use it.
So I think you need to decide under which sceanrios you are going to use the camera. If you are going to take it out specifically to take some photos, then size shouldn't be so much of an issue, as your in a mindset to carry a camera & take shots. If on the other hand you feel you will be more an opportunist shooter, then the smaller camera is more suitable , as it won't annoy you carrying it in your pocket. Last thing to note is if you get whichever camera for a good enough price, if you don't get on with it you can sell it on EBAY for minimal loss. I think I sold my F10 for same as I paid, after I realised I used the DSLR more. So which is it going to be ?

Re: F11, A700 or E900
I think it's going to have to be the F11 then and as it's only £150 in Jessops I'll get it from there and I'll be able to take it back if I don't like it. I wish it was still on their site thought as I could of got it for £135 then.
I was really looking forward to using the macro on the A700. My main concern is if I decide to take my photography futher next year on my foudation course. Then again I still have my old film SLR which I suppose I could get some cheap lenses for. My gut tells me to hold out till I can find the F11 cheaper but I still can't decide! I've got the link hence which is why I can get the A700 for £180.
Shame the F11 isn't on their site.
