Great spec and I notice that Nikon has adopted the CMOS sensor

instead as their usual universal choice of the CCD (Charge Coupled Device). Canons been with the CMOS for years and is now putting them into their compacts. Probably every manufacturer will adopt the CMOS especially now that Sony is investing huge sums of money into the CMOS sensor technology.

This is almost certainly the same CMOS previously used in the D2Xs. Which is good but not great. The CCD of the D200 was pretty good at High ISO low light noise compared to the D2Xs IME.
