Oh Heck!!!!!
Well there I was, having spent two years with my 350D which has given me so much pleasure, introduced me to a great hobby and therefor quite frankly owes me nothing.
There I was, having just about decided to splash out on a 40D, convinced through reading so many happy reports, plus watching Silkys mammoth struggle not to buy one despite the temptations before him. Oh yes, there I was browsing through your excellent Pixalo when up pops an animal called a 450D, OMG a new beast, lots of good rumours and positive vibes, now what the hell do I do. Cmon guys help me here, I feel like king Solomon must have felt when he first saw his 500 concubines, I know what is expected of me but sure as hell don't know where to start. ![]() Opinions please 450D or 40D |

Re: Oh Heck!!!!!
40D defo the one to go for, unless your a technophobe.
I just did the jump to a full size camera, much better balance and feel to it. However it has more buttons than a pair of longjohns and more bells than the bikes in Amsterdam. This is one camera I'm actually going to sit down with the manual and study a while. The 450 will still be the small body, small feel camera. I have absolutely no doubt it will be a corker and offer loads, but in the short time I've had my 40D I have grown to really love it. ![]() Mind you there was nowt wrong with my 350 just had a hole burning in my pocket

Re: Oh Heck!!!!!
It's a nice dilemma to have, dandan.
![]() Personally I'd go for the 40D because the controls and feel of the camera suit me, but they are both very good. In particular I like the wheel thingy on the back of the 10/20/30/40D which the 450D doesn't have, and also the size fits my hands better, especially with larger lenses. Although the 350/400/450D are excellent, I haven't come across anyone who has upgraded to the 30/40D and regretted it. ![]() I'm waiting for the 50D. Honest!
