Timeous purchase, Dave; the v2.0 firmware is out now and the camera is at a great price... I think you'll find that it brings so much more to the table over and above the D70 that you won't regret your purchase.
I'd strongly advise picking up an MB-D200 grip if you can and loading it with 2700mAh rechargeable cells - you'll have a camera that's 90% of the way to being a D2X at far less than the price
