As a Nikon user I'm not up to speed with the specs and capabilities of the Canon.

This in depth review of the D7500 and a couple of other Nikons on either side of the D7500 might be of use:

One thing that you should know is that the D7500 cannot be fitted with a battery grip.

thanks , after reading lots I'm going for the Nikon, I gave my Canon Kit to my daughter so its a new adventure.

In that case I recommend that you check out Steve Perry's website. He is an American wildlife photographer, a Nikon user and a bit of a guru on all aspects of Nikon. Lots of info on how the get the best from your Nikon and tips on wildlife photography too.
