Sealife, Canon D10 or Stylus Tough-8000
Sealife, Canon D10 or Stylus Tough-8000, which camera should I buy?
We are in the Caribbean at least 3-4 times a year and snorkel almost daily. My husband can dive down quite a bit and all three are suppose to be good to 33ft. He regularly dives to 15-20 feet. Actually I think the Sealife is good to a greater depth. |

Re: Sealife, Canon D10 or Stylus Tough-8000
I looked at the reviews on both and they are about the same price range, so it seems the Stylus Tough-8000 has a bit of advantage since it has 2 more megapixels than the canon (canon is 10 the stylus 12) also the stylus has checking of air and water pressure thanks to on-screen manometer, that's a good plus, other than the shape everything else is pretty much the same.
hope this helps The sea life, well it depends on wich model, but if you are willing to spend the sealife has plenty of accessories that will help take better pictures. so I would go: 1.- Sealife (if you are willing to spend) 2.- Stylus Tough-8000 3.- Canon D10

Re: Sealife, Canon D10 or Stylus Tough-8000
Sotelo has put forward some resonable suggestions based on the specifications, but I suspect most people will think that you were asking for opinions based on actual useage.
There are very few members who will have experience of underwater photography, and those that have are not very active on the forums. I think you will have to rely on reviews/comparisons in either the photographic magazines or maybe the specialist underwater mags. |

Re: Sealife, Canon D10 or Stylus Tough-8000
Thanks Stoelo and Dab.
Yes Dab, personal experience would be nice but the tec advice and evaluation is helpful. Being the tec phobic that I am. ![]() I have one Sealife ECOshot ............that is now in the hands of the company because the CCR (something to do with the electronics) ?? is on the blink. It had only been on three trips. I want to buy another underwater camera for my husbands birthday. He's the one that can dive down 20' or so and makes it look easy. Drats! He borrowed my camera on the last trip to St. Croix and to his surprise had a ball taking photos. The ones that didn't come out because the camera is not working. |
