Hi all,
Does it make sense to upgrade from 350 to 400? I've got a decent offer for my 350D (not that I was planning on selling it) but then thought I could get the 400D with the price difference ![]() Later |

Re: 350d -> 400d
I think you would be happier in the longer term going to the 40D, or even a s/h 30D.

Re: 350d -> 400d
I think you would be better sticking with the 350D. (I have the 400D but did not upgrade). The extra bits are better, more MPs and faster FPS. However, unless its a straight swap, or you make a profit, I would consider putting the difference towards a new lens or saving for sumut in the next range up. If you can make a profit then go for it!

Re: 350d -> 400d
wooow silkstone, thats a great idea... I'll have to look into it... see the price difference and all...
I am not making any profit on it, in fact am loosing a little bit on it... but I figured that 400D would be worth it! |

Re: 350d -> 400d
If the size of the body is of no worry then I would look at a 30D or 40D. One thing I would also add is don't chase technology.If you are happy with the results of the less expensive kit then go for it.

Re: 350d -> 400d
To be honest with myself, I don't really need to upgrade my 350D. Its doing exactly what I need it to do and a whole lot more! But thinking of having a new technology in my hands makes me forget everything else

Re: 350d -> 400d
I think you'll be more impressed with the change to the 30D/40D than the 400D. If you've no compelling reason to upgrade right now, I would save a little longer and get a 30D or 40D.

Re: 350d -> 400d
The difference between 8 to 10 megapixels is very, very minimal, the (400D)XTi also is kinda a minor upgrade from the (350D) XT, in the long term the 30D or 40D offer you much more -just the 100,000 shots shutter and the magnesium alloy is a big upgrade- save your hard earned money until you have enough for the 30D or 40D
.
