43mm v 55mm filters?

basically I was looking at getting the filter adapter for my fuji e900 so I can try using some filters (well

) and maybe a wideangle adapter

Fuji sell their own one for £13 which is 43mm I've seen some on ebay for £7 that are 55mm. Which is the more comon size and thus more likely to have cheaper filters available?

You need to buy the size that fits on the end of your lens. No point buying 55mm if you can't fit them on. Pricewise they should be pretty much the same anyway.

thats just it steep currently I have the option of buying an adapter to fit onto my camera one will take 43mm filters the other 55mm so I can use either depending on which adapter I buy. I was trying to find out if there was a reason I should avoid the cheaper 55mm adapter?

ah!, I see. in that case go with the 55mm size it will certainly fit a greater range of lenses.
