Re: advise please Canon EF 70-300mm

It is a good lens I used to use one all the time but it now sits unused in a cupboard.

The 70 - 300 seems to cover about the same focal length as your Sigma - Are you unhappy with that one. Or is it just the extra reach of the 70-300 you want.

Either way I would suggest that you also look at the Tamron 18-270 as an alternative. This is a cracking lens with good macro capabilities as well. The problem with having the kit lens - I assume 18-55 and the 70 - 300 is that you are always changing lenses and I found that most times I had the wrong one on. That is why I went for the Tamron.
