Yes at last it has happened.

Sony annouce the Alpha 700. Looks pretty good. No full censor but the rest seem to be work well.

But yes Sony do it again. There it is, but no one knows when it will be in the shops, not even members of Sony, No price.

The price if you equate the American price should come out here at around £850, but I bet you Sony put it on the market here nearer £950.00. Be the death of it if they do.
Now the big question is do I buy one or two to replace the 7D.

or Do I sell all the minolta gear off and buy the new D300 in November. To replace my gear will cost around £10.000.00. There goes the new car.

The specs look pretty impressive - and some genuinely useful extras over the 40D (OK, not a direct competitor but I'm betting a few sales will be dented!).

I see they claim 4 stops for the anti-shake - now that's a tad more useful than a sensor cleaner (something I will always regard as a gimmick!).
A more useful range of exposure compensation (+/- 3.0)
Dual cards - something I really missed after the CF/SM on my Fuji. Excellent! Ensures that you miss nothing through changing cards (assuming you put 2 cards in!)
Now if the ISO6400 and noise control is a good as they claim.........
A much better LCD but no live preview (no great loss!) but no LCD on top (which is a pain!)
