Budget options for backgrounds for Studio outift
OK, I'm about to purchase a house with enough rooms, for me to have a dedicated studio setup
I was thinking of purchasing the studio lights as described here :- http://www.pixalo.com/community/came...ash-11475.html . I now need to think of backgrounds I like the idea of a white background & possibly black. Whats the best option for doing this on a budget ....eg, I don't want to spend a fortune to find I don't get on with Studio work ....at same time, I don't want it looking crap All advice appreciated

Re: Budget options for backgrounds for Studio outift
Lucky you!
If the room is big enough, could you paint one wall black and one white? That would be easy enough to cover over if it doesn't work out. |

Re: Budget options for backgrounds for Studio outift
Our studio at work has a couple of stands with three rolls of background paper that can be unrolled to suit what you are shooting. Simple and I suspect cheap, as the stands are just poles with a 'Y' at the top to hold the rolls of paper (like a toilet roll holder). there are grey, white and a pastel ready to go, plus a couple of other colours that can be put up when needed.
For income, you could hire the studio out too. |

Re: Budget options for backgrounds for Studio outift
Painting the wall might work but for seamless full height work you need roll or trains. Chromakey is worth thinking about as it makes it easy to use digital backgrounds. Paper rolls are cheap but most shoots you will need to cut some off expecially if you use chairs as props. Incidentally 2nd hand and charity shops should not be passed by so easily now if you want studio props, costumes and furniture.
