Camera Insurance

I have just purchased a Olympus E 520 still under warranty from a private party, Olympus doe not transfer warranties. I tried a 3rd party ( Square Trade Warranty ) they will not cover private party purchases. Anyone got some Company that will cover this.

Thank you in advance

Welcome to Pixalo Frank

Domestic and General spring to mind as a company that offer extended warranties that continue after the maker's one expires, but usually they have to be purchased at the same time as the camera. Must be worth ringing them up to find out though.

Their policies also cover loss and accidental damage.

Re: Camera Insurance

Failing D&G, how about an ordinary "All Risks" insurance policy?
I'm pretty sure most general insurance companies provide such cover.

I actually deleted from my reply that the "all risks" section of your household insurance might give decent cover at a reasonable price, but was not sure if this would cover things like AF motors failing or the shutter needing attention. Rare events, admittedly, but I think the D&G will cover these things as well as offering accidental damage and loss cover too.
