Camera Lens

I just purchased a Nikon D3000 camera and a Bower Digital Super Fish Eye Wide Angle Lens (46mm thread). In order to use the Fish Eye lens on my camera, I'm told it must first be attached to another lens.

What kind of lens would I need to buy to use together with the Fish Eye Lens?

Welcome to Pixalo Elmina

I've moved your thread here as it is a more appropriate section.

Sounds to me like you have bought a supplementary lens that is designed to screw onto the front of the lens that came with your camera. The 46mm you mention is the size of the filter thread that you will find on the front of your lens, but check on your lens first to ensure that the filter thread is 46mm. It will be marked on the lens somewhere.

Re: Camera Lens

The D3000 is a DSLR camera (Digital Single Lens Reflex) and you mount the lens you need to shoot the scene required. The wide angle lens you speak of, whilst it could be attached to a lens on the D3000, would probably need a stepdown ring and is better suited (and designed for) a 'bridge' camera i.e. one with a fixed (usually zoom) lens. I think you would be better off getting an 18-50mm or a 24-70mm lens which fits directly on your camera rather than try to find something to which you can fit your wide angle lens. If you really want to start off with a wide angle fish eye then you can buy one which will fit directly to your camera, but these are quite expensive.
Good luck with your new hobby.
