Can anyone recommend me a bag

I currently have a expedition 6x and tbh it's far too big for me I'm female and only 5'3 and iodine the bag too big I need something capable of holding

Canon 450D, Kit Lens, Canon 100 m - 400mm L Lens, Sigma 180mm Macro, Canon 50mm Nifty Fifty and all my accessories plus need a place to put my iPad in too as I take this with me everywhere I go it's like my 3rd arm

Re: Can anyone recommend me a bag

This is not as straightforward as it might seem. There are many variations of the different styles, and personal preference plays a major part.

For instance, I prefer a single layer bag where you don't have to take stuff out to access other kit. You can get great trolley bags - but they are no good for rough ground.

You say that you want to include your iPad, and that will eliminate many bags at a stroke.

If you are comfortable with a rucksack, the Lowepro Mini Trekker has many fans - there are some reviews here:

Pixalo Photographic Equipment Reviews - Mini Trekker AW -

If you like a shoulder bag, i have reviewed the Tamrac Pro 12 here:

Pixalo Photographic Equipment Reviews - Pro System 12 (5612) -

and there is a review of the Tamrac Pro 8 here:

Pixalo Photographic Equipment Reviews - Pro System 8 (5608) -

The Tamrac will probably accept the iPad in one of the pockets on the back.

I now find that I have several bags and will use the one that is most suitable for what I'm gong to be doing. If I'm going to be doing lots of walking the Mini Trekker is unbeatable. If not, the Tamrac Pro 12 will do the job.

Re: Can anyone recommend me a bag

I've the Tamrac Expedition 7x and won't be parted with it (other than to take the Expedition 8!) as I can add the side 'wings' to take a full range of cameras/lenses but OH has the Aero Speed 75 and has your amount of gear. Have to say it's pretty good as it takes only what she needs, has a top compartment for clothing, food, etc and is very easy to access. Downside is that it doesn't have the D rings on the shoulder straps (she uses the Tamrac camera strap with the ability to snap it onto the straps if it has D rings) - personally, I hang hat, gloves, adapters, kitchen sink, etc off mine!)

Re: Can anyone recommend me a bag

I've got a LowePro Fastpack 350 which is great because it has a pouch at the back big enough for my MacBook Pro or an iPad but it is not very small.

I would recommend it though!

Re: Can anyone recommend me a bag

Thanks guys the expedition 6x is just too big and bulky for me I bought it not realising this and now I have to ask my partner to carry it and he complains. I do prefer the backpack style as this evens the weight out I also like to take all my equipment with me as you never know when your going to need it.

Anyone interested in an expedition 6x rucksack lol

Re: Can anyone recommend me a bag

I wonder really if your problem is not the bag, but what you're putting in it.

If you're still going to take all that stuff, whatever you buy to replace it is still going to be as heavy. The bag itself weighs very little.

Do you need to take the laptop, and all those lenses every time ? Could the laptop go in it's own bag (give that to your partner ?).

You have to check out the Lowepro Mini Trekker AW in that case.

I once carried 10 kilos in mine all day and it was a breeze.

It's more the size than weight I'm struggling with as it's very bulky I don't take my laptop out with me I just take my iPad as I have the camera connection kit so can take pics off the card while I'm out and about

Re: Can anyone recommend me a bag

If you're ever in Manchester pop into Calumet 'downing street'.

They have tons of bags all on display so you can have a play.
