Canon 400D Lens. Decisions. Decisions.
Hi.
New to the site and am very interested in answers to the following question. Have kit lens 18-55mm and 75-300mm both non IS. Interested in buying lens for photography of trains and general scenery, etc. Looking at either 55-250mm IS lens or pay extra for 70-200mm f4 lens non IS. Can justify paying nearly double the price between them but need some arguments about either lens, pro's and con's. Your input into this question would be greatly appreciated. |

At the moment, the only point I would make is that for general scenery youwill want something wider than 55 or 70.

Assuming you kept your 18-55mm, then I'd be tempted by the 55-250mm as being slightly more flexible, not to say a good bit cheaper!

i would go for the 55/250 as markulous says a lot, lot cheaper ,but saying that, a little extra saving for the 70/200 f4, would be advantages in the long run i feel

I'd keep the 18-55 and get the 70-300 IS.

Re: Canon 400D Lens. Decisions. Decisions.
Thankyou for your advice guys. I have decided to go for the 55-250mm IS lens and am looking forward to it arriving and then trying to get out on a nice day to get some shots.
