The rumour machine is rumbling again. Nothing from Canon but best bet I can find is

Canon 40D
Launch date: 26/9
1.6x 10M CMOS senor
Anti-dust feature

I'm dubious because, although Photokina is upon us I can't imagine Canon putting this out so soon. They usually have an 18 month cyle. Plus...will it be worth it? There's not a lot they can upgrade except pixel count, anti-dust and built-in IS. They won't do the latter otherwise there lens production is up in smoke. Any thoughts?

The new Digic III has made it's debut, so I've got a feeling there will be some DSLR upgrades sooner rather than later

If such a camera were on the cards, it would cost a fair bit more than the 30D, and possibly detract expected sales from the 30D which - unless Canon are willing to take the loss - would be a suicidal marketing move.

I don't doubt that there's a 40D in the roadmap... just not in the next 9/12 months.
