Canon 580EX Flashgun.

I just bought this gun and it was delivered this morning. I also bought the Off- Shoe Cord. I've just spent over an hour playing with it and giving it a good testing with everything from extreme close-ups to distance and mixed flash and ambient light at all distances. It really is superb and it gives the most natural looking colour balance and white balance I've yet seen from a flashgun. I haven't even looked at the manual yet - just stuck it on TTL.

I have the same flash along with the 550ex.
It does give more pleasing results than the 550, the burst rate is good also.

Your bank balance must look worse than mine Matt!

I'm really impressed so far, I've just been using it as a slave and firing it via the pop-up flash - fantastic! 8) 8)

I must look into getting a flash gun - the 420 looks like a good starter one http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...ad.php?t=74249
