Re: Canon 5D MKII (MK2) - Some new reviews

Wow, there is a cracking example of the HD filming facility in Richard Walch's review. There is also a very good look at what the 5DMk2 can do at high ISOs in Ziv's review. Well worth a look, thanks Dave.

Cheers,
Rob

Re: Canon 5D MKII (MK2) - Some new reviews

Interesting reviews. Just bought my wife a new Nikon compact so she decided to take more interest in my plans to purchase a 5D MkII. When she saw the current price she said "How much!!!!!!!!!!???" and found it difficult to believe that it could cost 15 times her new camera.

Re: Canon 5D MKII (MK2) - Some new reviews

One of the best signature lines I have seen is of a good friend of mine, also a mad-keen Canon photographer (or should that just be 'mad, keen...' ), which says this:

If I should die suddenly, please don't let my wife sell my gear for the prices she thinks I paid for them!

Cheers and happy new year,
Rob

Re: Canon 5D MKII (MK2) - Some new reviews

Well they took their time with that review

Have to say I'm happy to stick with my 5D MK1 based on this review. If I was starting afresh with no camera gear, & didn't shoot primarily portraits at the mo, I would go the Nikon D700 route.

Saying all that, if you look at how close the image quality is from the Canon, Nikon & Sony, you have to say it's down to personal preference which camera system you go for.

Hilarious I think he will find out soon how much the gear is in total. I need to put it down for insurance purpose with the big move.
