Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM to go on my 5D

Hi guys (and girls)
Iv just bought Canon EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM to go on my 5D
iv read all the commets on here about this lens and the common factor seems to be its lack in the low light department, due to the fact that the 5D laughs at low light, i thought this would make a good walkabout lens as at my age i need the IS, what do you think? have i got it wrong again?
thanks for looking.

The Image Stabilisation should help in the low light department, add that to the 5D's capabilities and I think you'll be pretty happy, especially considering the price difference between that and say the 24-105L f/4.... You could always get a 50 f/1.8 (if you havn't got one already) for those really low light situations it may struggle with.

Regarding the lens, I'm currently viewing on a laptop so it's hard to tell but it seems fine here... But if your happy then that's all that counts

I'd be interested to see how it fairs when you give it a good workout outdoors.
