Talking Canon extender advice

Hi all,

First post here so be gentle

Looking for some advice on the Canon 1.4x and 2x II extenders.

I will soon have my hands on a Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM to use on my 300D, and will be taking this to the solar eclipse in Turkey in March. I'd ideally like a tads longer focal length and so was thinking that the extender might be useful. But I'd also like to use it afterwards as well.

So I'd like to know if the IS and AF will work with either of these extenders on the 300D.

Thanks

Nick

Excellent, thanks Joe

I think the bottom line is the 2x will be perfect for the eclipse to give much needed focal length, but I'm gonna have to ditch it afterwards

Cheers
