Canon PowerShot SX100: How to unlock memory card?

I have Canon PowerShot SX100 IS digital camera and I must admit that it's really a great camera. It was working pretty well until last night and now it shows that my memory card is locked. I purchased this camera few weeks ago from Tech Depot through Dealrocker, so I don't know much about it. I know it's a minor issue, but can't figure out the reason behind it. Can anyone help me to unlock the memory card?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Pixalo Alicefred

If your camera uses SD cards there is a small slider on the side that locks the card. If it uses a different type of card (CF etc) there is probably an option in your menu that protects one or more pictures, or maybe locks the card to protect them all.

Re: Canon PowerShot SX100: How to unlock memory card?

I think Dabhand hit it on the nail. I unlocked an SD card for friends who were going on holiday the next day (major panic on their part). It is quite easy to slide the lock on by mistake.
