Changing my Tripod

I am looking at changing my Manfrotto 055pro/b for something lighter but that has good stability so I was hoping for some help in what to look at as there are so many on the market.
Thanks in advance for your help

Re: Changing my Tripod

I've got a Velbon carbon fibre tripod that I'm very pleased with. Probably not made any more, but it is a 535 model. If they have not changed their designations, the models that end in '0' have concentric screw leg locks and the ones ending in '5' have clips.

It has a hook to attach to the bottom of the column to attach a bag of rocks if necessary.

All of the main players sell Carbon fibre tripods these days, just a question of checking out if any of them do any tricks that you will find useful. If you are pleased with your Manfrotto they will be a good place to start.

Re: Changing my Tripod

I use the Manfrotto 190 3 section carbon fibre thing. I've had it about 5 years - great tripod. Light and sturdy.
