choices choices

ive changed my mind about a 28-300mm lens reading a lot into them and its not right for me.

im going to buy a 70-300mm tamron or sigma.
im swaying a lot towards the sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro
can anybody advise i know you lot are very knowledgable also open to suggestions but have a budget of maybe £300 maximum

Re: choices choices

Jack's your man for using that 70-300 lens and I know he has no complaints, tho' I've got the non-APO version which has turned in some pretty good shots (wanted the APO but it couldn't be supplied at the time)

Re: choices choices

I was going to say you'd be better off with the Canon 70-300 IS USM but then I checked your gear and I'm not sure which camera you are buying for

Re: choices choices

recently i bought the Sigma 70/300 none APO , mainly because i didn,t do my research for a few £ more i would have bought the APO version , i dont really know if the one is better than the other ofcourse but having used it a couple of time and the results i got i think i would get the canon 70/300 IS , this will be my next lens,or the 70/200 L the one i really want but cannot afford just yet. The reason i bought it was i couldn't wait to have the longer focal lenth but in the mean time using this lens is giving me experience at a longer distance.
Some say this is a reasonable lens am sure it is in the right hands. I just need to improve.
Anyway hope this helps

Re: choices choices

Personally i would save your money and get a better lens like the 70-200L it is false economy buying cheap lenses

Whilst I'd agree that it's best to get a better lens, it's better to be able to get the shot and build up some experience - or that's always been my philosophy. You also learn how to wring every little advantage (settings, conditions, etc) out of the equipment
