Question Comparison of Stofen (Sto-fen) Omni vs Gary Fong diffuser

With the Stofen Omni filter only costing about a third the price of the Gary Fong Lightsphere, can anyone advise if the Fong diffuser is worth the extra money ?

Yes, every penny. I have both and there is no comparison, the Stofen has not been out of the bag since I bought the LS.

Re: Comparison of Stofen (Sto-fen) Omni vs Gary Fong diffuser

I have no clue what the stofen is, but I love my fong. It is the best thing since sliced bread, and is never off of the flash.

It is bulky and cumbersome, however, and adds torque to the hotshoe and top of the camera if you walk around with the camera strap around your neck and the flash and fong on it.

I did some research on the fong since I read this yesterday and I'm getting one next week, it looks like it works great.

Has anyone here used the Cloud (as opposed to the Clear) Fong for portrait style work.

If so are the results comparable with studio lighting

It's a bugger carrying lights everywhere
