I see when u shoot RAW in 14 bit there is a marked delay in shutter activation compared to 12 bit. Quite afew people not happy with this. I presume this when using continous shutter activation apparently 1/1000th of a sec u got time to make a cup of tea between activations!!when in 14 bit 12 bit and its ok

Do you honestly need 14 bit RAW files though? I admit for a feature it's a bit rubbish that it doesn't work, but even so....
Yeh go back to the D200, I'll see if I can fix your D300...might take about 3 years mind

I aint got one yet and wont until the "teething " is sorted so its the D200 for now still living in my bag!

I must admit I haven't heard anyone complaining about this. The slower frame rates per second when using 14 bit RAW files are because the files are approximately 1.3 times the size of the 12 bit but you will still get 2.5 fps although you can still get 8fps in 12 bit RAW, more than enough for most people.

This is not a 'teething' problem but an enhanced feature of the camera.

yeah should have got a Canon and wait for the recall for the focusing problems.

Oh well, suppose i will have to stick to my D200 then,
