Digital photoframes
Has anyone tried digital photo frames? I saw them on a website, but have never seen them in a shop. What is the quality like and how long do the batteries last?

Re: Digital photoframes
I know nothing of these other than the quality is variable. I thought they run from the mains on a small transformer. I think a recent test in a consumer magazine put the Jobo at the top of those tested.

Re: Digital photoframes
They're pretty good little gizmos but, as Graham says, quality is pretty variable along with fairly unintuitive operation.
But they do work, even the cheap ones don't look totally disastrous. I've only seen mains powered ones and come with different card readers but most seem to support USB for pic display Prices seem to be falling fairly rapidly, so think it probably pays to get a recent one rather than an old(ish) model |

Re: Digital photoframes
You can get battery powered ones as well but I don't know anything about recommend models or anything I'm afraid

Re: Digital photoframes
I think they are a nice office gadget, I have one that's a Kodak 8X10 with black frame (it's bigger but the actual image area is 8X10) it has 512 MB internal memory but you can fit almost any memory card in there including USB, I have a 2GB card with aprox. 250 Images.
It will show the images in slideshow which you can customize to your preference. They're are not for Exposition quality, they're for home or office quality. Mine doesn't run on batteries so I can't help you there, sorry. |

Re: Digital photoframes
Thanks for all the comments. I just assumed that they were battery run, as it mentioned "energy pack" but it was a German website
![]() On the basis of this, I will go to a shop rather than order blind. |
