Red face Flashgun for Panasonic FZ30 Camera?

Hi,

I have Panasonic FZ30 and looking to buy an external flash gun for this camera. I need to cover my sisters wedding on 15th March.

I'm wondering, what would be the compatible models for this camera. My budget is below $200.

I checked some models like Sunpack 383 and Nikon SB800, bit expensive for me.

I appreciate you comments and help.

Thanks!!!

Nuwan

Re: Flashgun for Panasonic FZ30 Camera?

I seem to remember reading that the Sunpack 383 was alot better than Panasonic's own brand flash for this camera, might be worth having a look at it again as I'm not sure what other range of flash's will be compatable with your camera... besides the 383 is only $80 at B&H

Oh, and welcome to Pixalo Nuwan!

Re: Flashgun for Panasonic FZ30 Camera?

I have one of these, any non-dedicated flash (or dedicated with a non dedicated mode) with a low trigger voltage would do just fine. Just set manual mode and the ISO and aperture to match the flash settings together with a shutter speed of 125 or below. I think it's only older flashes that have the high voltage triggers. I have never used an external flash in anger but have tried it with an SB800 and a Metz 34 CS2 and it worked just fine. The Sunpack looks quite a bargain I don't know of much else at that price
