Fuji S1 Pro,any good.
Ok guys,
I have an all singing and dancing Nikon D300 and want a second DSLR to just bung my Sigma 105 macro on . I'm fed up of switching lenses all the time . So, basically the question is...........Is the IQ good, just want to take close up's with it and be satisfied with quality of image. Not going to blow it up to A3 or owt, is there any issues with this camera, Done a search but would sooner hear it from you guy's. Oh! and what's the going rate for a decent one.......... ![]() Cheers Guy's.

Re: Fuji S1 Pro,any good.
Very old now, so I think it might pale in comparison to your D300. Much as you say you wont care, you will notice big time IMO

Re: Fuji S1 Pro,any good.
I'm using my D70s as a second/spare body now. They can be got for reasonable prices and will probably do what you want. I've got some enlargements 20"x30" from shots taken with it.
I can't deny that when I use it there is a handling difference to the D300, but I can live with it. |

Re: Fuji S1 Pro,any good.
Going back many years we used S1 Pro's in the wedding business, at the time they were good comparred to what else was available on the market.
As soon as Canon released their 10D (yes it's really that long ago) we sold the S1's and switched due to the Canon being superior in every way. Now while the 10D was a great camera for its time, just about every later model form Nikon and Canon got better and I would strongly suggest that if you need a backup camera body look for a later model Nikon. Something like a D70 would probably suit you budget wise while producing results far better than the Fuji ever could.
