Geared Tripod Head

I did a bit of work with my Stackshot before my healing required I sit with my feet up, last summer.. Using my ball head, which is quite nice.. but not the right tool for the job..

In anticipation of being back amongst the upright, I purchased a Manfrotto 410 Junior geared head and a couple quick release plate bases and quick release plates that matches what the 410 uses.

It was some of the best money I've spent in a while I think The head is very precise and easy to move. The quick release plates snap in firmly and don't budge. I set up so my ball head and geared head are both on quick release plates and mounted a base on my bento tripod. So I can witch heads or camera with a lever flip.. Can't wait to try it all out, as soon as my shoes get in..

Yes, I saw that - it's what helped push me to go buy one. Unfortunately I need to be a blue to support about 10 pounds with the stackshot and camera and lens so the new one isn't enough tripod head to handle it all.

I thought for a while I'd have to buy the 405 ,but finally found the specs for the 410 Jr and it was sufficient.

LOYD, I AM PLEASED YOU DECIDED TO GO WITH THE 410 AND NOT THE 405, AS THE 405 REALLY IS A LUMP. I HAD ONE ON A MANFROTTO GEARED TRIPOD, THEY WEIGHED A TON.
I NOW HAVE ALSO BOUGHT THE 410, WHICH IS VERY MANAGEABLE, VERY PRECISE, I AM VERY PLEASED WITH IT, I HOPE YOU WILL BE ALSO

You know - i'm usually the guy who says buy the bigger, more expensive one. Buy it once... etc. but got thinking if i get the bigger one I have to haul the bigger one around. So I carefully weighed my camera, my stackshot and my heaviest lens I would mount on it and came up with 1 pound to spare.. Saved money (the I sunk into plates and mounting bases plus dp mpg have to haul the 405
